Dear my Yellows

"Hirokazu Miki has resigned as JEF president." The news came out of the blue. Last night it was released on JEF's official website. Akira Shimada who is a former JEF United Corporation board member takes over from Mr.Miki as the president.

I want to thank Mr.Miki. With his help, some companies sponsored for JEF. Soga station was painted the color of JEF and decorated with something related JEF, for example pictures, paints of Jeffy and Unity who were team's mascots and team flags. And he planed some events and tried to invite more spectators to Fukuari.

However, he failed to make football team. I don't think that all of things are his responsibility, but he promised Yellows' supporters to achieve our goal 2 years ago. At that time, he added that JEF will play on the pitch in the world someday and this was his dream.

I believe his dream is the same with us. We all dream that JEF UNITED will be accepted in the world in the near future. But now, can our Yellows challenge even in Japan?

They always managed to win games, but they were too self-conscious about the result and they avoided some risks. I guess they chose the safest way in each action and needed the perfect performances. As a result, they couldn't challenge and fight against opponent, I think.

I guess that they didn't know what they were doing on the pitch. "Victory depends on the luck of the day." They might be afraid of even that and pretended not to notice their feelings. They must have wanted to achieve their goal and be relieved as soon as possible. If it's true, what's their occupation?

Although I wanted to be relieved by hearing a good news that JEF belong to J1 the next season, this idea may be wrong because football is one of sports. Nobody knows whether they succeed it definitely or not. So, sports attract and excite us. I suppose that I've been doing the wrong way to support the club that I love.

The really difficult game for Yellows

Last Saturday, FC Tokyo succeeded in being promoted to J1, while JEF missed the last train which took them to their destination. Regardless of the result, I was happy to see our players having a warm-up on the pitch. However, they couldn't perform well for 90 minutes and showed rough play. It seemed to me they managed to control the game but they were just spinning their wheels. They were defeated by Greens 0-1.

I suppose that it was extremely heavy for JEF last weekend because they were just about to know the news of Vortis's winning and they were decided to belong to J2 the next year. It was the day before the match. And they lost the game and had to appear in front of Yellow supporters as usual. Sometimes I think about the duty -they have to go around the pitch and thank spectators after each games- may be really heavy for players. If I were a player, I would be quite embarrassed and might have a stomachache, especially after losing the game. I would want to go back to dressing room because I want to take a rest soon. However, this would be one of their important work because they are professional players no matter how tired they are.

For our Yellows, last Sunday must have been the most painful day they had ever played so far in this season.

Now, I believe that they wanted to win this game, just win the game as usual. But, at that time, I left the stadium soon after the game ended. I was not able to worry about them. It was a too heavy day.

What do you think about JEF?

What do you think about JEF? What sort of football do you like? What style do JEF have to choose?

My answers are...

1, JEF are under no good circumstance because they failed to be promoted to J1 again. In these years they only manage to advance to the top league, I guess they aren't growing as a professional football team. But whenever I'm at Fukuari, I enjoy seeing our players on the pitch.

2, I want to watch the football that players perform fast, pepper an opponent's goal with many shots and find the back of the net many times.

3, Why do our team slow down their pace in the last half-season in these years? Is this because JEF have to achieve their goal in a year? It doesn't really matter whatever style of football they show, because it's important to develop our club more and more. They should stop trying to be promoted to the 1st division in one year and have to try to make a good professional football club. They are required a clear vision of football and to have a dream football. I hope to turn Fukuari into the real theater of football game.
Nowadays Chiba is one of the football prefectures and there are some great high school football teams as well. Our club have to find out the reason why the team get weaker and weaker in one year and compare ours with other clubs. I'm sure the more the club develop, the more popular JEF are.

Today, FC Tokyo get a ticket to advance to J1. Congratulation!

Jubilo 0-1 JEF, the third round of the Emperor's Cup

I was very happy to hear the news that JEF defeated Jubilo at YAMAHA stadium. I was not able to go there last night, I was at home and watching on TV other football games of the third round, Nigata v Matsumoto Yamaga and Shonan v Fukuoka University.
I was glad that JEF won 2 successive games and Yonekura scored again. In the next round, probably we'll travel to Shizuoka Pref. on Dec. I'll see Eddy Bosnar, he is a former JEF player, and I'm looking forward to see Fredrik Ljungberg.

North Korea 1-0 Japan

Blue Samurai lost under Alberto Zaccheroni for the first time. Though I was disappointed about the result, it must have been quite difficult to play for our team.
I guess the Blues have a lot of homework which they have not done yet and tasks which they have to do from now on.
I hope them to overcome various difficulties and be much better than now. I'm sure they will do that.

"書" of the day #4 [小筆の練習] [Calligraphy]

"書" of the day was [小筆の練習]. Yesterday, I practiced to write a letter with a small writing brush. I want to write an address on the New Year's card with a writing brush, while I usually printed out both sides of them at this time of the year. However, I've really notice that it takes a very long time and it's extremely difficult to write small letters. I gradually wrote them bigger and bigger, and then, I began writing small ones.
Can I make it until the end of the year? Can I do that?

JEF 1-0 Gainare

I'm very happy as our Yellows won the game today. It took a long time to win, just win a game. We don't have any opportunities to achieve our goal of this season now, it might have been cold around Soga. Even so, Yellow Supporters go to Fukuari with the color of JEF whenever games are held, they keep supporting their team with their full strength.
These days it was very difficult to win games for JEF. I was always disappointed after each games and wondered at them not winning games. Because they always looked likely to beat the opponent before the kick-off, when it's their warm-up whatever, even if their previous game was not good. At the moment, it excited me.
Today I found the same mood from our eleven. In the beginning Gainare made some opportunities, but Okamoto didn't allow them to score. And then, JEF settled down and started dominating possession. I wanted them to open in the 1st half but they drew 0-0. In the 2nd half I wasn't worried about their situation as they seemed to be better obviously than before, they even looked shinning. In the 56 minute, Koki Yonekura scored from the spot due to Greens' DF, Suzuki's handball in the box. And then, they made many opportunities to earn some goals aggressively but they could not make it. On the other hand, Tottori managed to comeback around the end of the game, it made us nervous. However, our players succeeded in keeping the clean sheet, JEF defeated Gainare 1-0.
The next home game is the final match of this season on Dec 3. Before that we will travel to Ajinomoto Stadium twice. Those games may bother us but I'm looking forward to seeing that our Yellows will be shinning again.

Tajikistan 0-4 Japan

It's tough to play at away for all of teams in the world, specially, in an international competitive match. There are some factors - a jet lag, food and a climate, etc - these bother players. Japan overcame these difficulties and won 4-0 in Tajikistan. And then, there's a possibility that they advance to the fourth round depending on the result of the match, Uzbekistan v Korea DPR tonight.
The next game of the 2014 Brazil World Cup qualifier in third round, Samurai Blue will travel to North Korea on next Tuesday. Jong Tae-Se, Ryang Yong-Gi, An Yong-Hak, Kim Song-Gi, they are very famous players for Japanese football lovers. For both teams and others playing in this qualifier, since it's hard to perform in a heavy schedule, I hope good games and I'm looking foward to watching them.

At midnight, we had a good news that Japan advance to the next round because Uzbekistan beat their opponent.(I added this after posting at 22:40.)
